In addition to Category 5e cable , TSAChoice also specializes in installing optical fiber that is common in today's high-speed data networks. Normally, fiber is most used inside businesses to connect Category 5 hubs and/or switches sharing the same network when those devices are over 90 meters apart. Often, because of these distance restrictions, fiber is installed as the data backbone inside larger buildings or industrial plants. Optical fiber is also the media of choice for connecting multiple buildings that share a common LAN.
Since optical fiber is glass, it does not conduct electricity. This makes it impervious to lightning and the problems it can cause. However, the best reason for installing fiber is its almost unlimited bandwidth. If a company desires to install a network infrastructure that will stand the test of time, it is difficult imagining a technology replacing fiber for many years. Many forward-thinking companies are even installing fiber to the desktop now in place of twisted pair in an effort to get more mileage out of their network investment. TSAChoice has extensive experience with both single-mode and multi-mode fiber. We offer turnkey installations that can include directional boring, and the placement of underground and aerial cable, the penetration of buildings and any necessary inside work. We have experience with installing some of the largest industrial sites in Western North Carolina, as well as large campus and government environments. Our BICSI certified Registered Communication Distribution Designer can design specifications and supervise all aspects of the installation of a complete structured wiring system . Our technicians have been trained in all aspects of handling, splicing, terminating and testing. No company in Western North Carolina has the experience and the number of local installations as does TSAChoice, your One-Call Provider. |
