Structured Data Wiring -Our Background

In 1991 TSAChoice began hearing from our customers that they needed help installing data wiring for their Local Area Networks. The new wiring standard for connecting office computers together was moving to twisted pair cable and away from older coax and twinax cable. Our customers assumed that since twisted pair cable is basically just telephone cable, that we should be able to do this wiring for them.

TSAChoice knew it wasn't that easy and that there was a huge difference in the techniques and the materials used for data wiring. Installing cable for data moving at speeds of up to a gigabit per second is totally different from wiring telephones.

We started sending our technicians to special classes on the subject, and two of our top employees became BICSI Registered Communication Distribution Designers (RCDDs)--wiring engineers. We learned about Category 5e data wiring and what it took to properly install a data network. We then invested thousands of dollars of test equipment to double-check our work. Later, we moved into optical fiber that involved more schooling and more test equipment.

Today, TSAChoice has installed some of the largest structured wiring systems in western North Carolina including colleges, county governments, hospitals, and multi-building manufacturing facilities.
